Tzatziki Sauce
A rich flavor packed tzatziki sauce that will not leave you disappointed. Designed to go over the top of gyro or shawarma pita sandwich.

Ingredients

Plain Greek Yogurt

Cucumber
Peeled and sliced into halves lengthwise, deseeded and shredded (cheese grater)

Instructions
Use a fine cheese grater and zest 1 lemon
Juice that lemon
Peel the cucumber, cut the ends off, and cut into halves lengthwise
Use a tablespoon or knife to remove the seeds and fine shred the cucumber slices with a cheese grater
Squeeze the water out of the cucumbers (I let mine sit in a strainer or colander for 15 minutes after I pressed water out with a tablespoon)
Mix all ingredients together in a medium size bowl and let sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour

When we make Tzatziki sauce for gyros or shawarma, we use the leftovers for our salads or dipping veggies in for a snack. Enjoy your Tzatziki Sauce!
