Steamed Asian Green Beans in the Instant Pot

We use our instant pot to quickly and easily steam the green beans and toss them in a homemade asian sauce that is absolutely delicious. The sauce can make up to 5 pounds of green beans.

  • 16 oz Green Beans (16 oz = 2 servings) up to 5 lbs = 10 servings
  • 1 cup Water

Asian Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Sriracha Heat (sriracha) can be reduced to 1 tsp or omitted completely
  • 1 tsp Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Granulated Garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Granulated Onion or garlic powder


  • Cut or break ends off green beans and cut into bite size pieces
  • Add water to the Instant Pot
  • Place the steamer basket inside the instant pot
  • Place trimmed green beans into steamer basket
  • Put the instant pot lid on, seal the pressure release valve, and pressure cook for zero minutes
  • Mix all sauce ingredients together in a large mixing bowl
  • When the instant pot has come to pressure and beeps, release the pressure
  • Remove the lid and dump the green beans into the bowl with the sauce
  • Stir or toss green beans with the sauce until evenly covered
  • Serve with everything your heart desires and enjoy your green beans!



The asian sauce is good to for any steamed vegetable.  Our favorite is green beans for sure but broccoli and cauliflower are close behind.  If you’d like to make the asian sauce without any heat, skip the sriracha sauce.  We are pretty big fans of the spicy asian sauce on our steamed green beans and recommend this recipe to everybody that loves incredible flavor and needs a side dish.
