Bacon in the Air Fryer

A How to make bacon in the Air Fryer instructional video. Bacon is so good and can be cooked perfectly a few different ways. Before moving into our RV full time, I would cook our bacon in the oven and the bacon turned out absolutely perfect. I could easily cook a full pound in one batch. Now that I do not use my oven at all, I use our air fryer to cook our bacon and it always turns out perfect.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 lb Thick Cut Bacon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the air fryer at 400°F for 5 minutes.
  • Lay bacon in the air fryer basket edge to edge.
  • Put air fryer basket into the air fryer and cook at 320°F for a total of 12 minutes.
  • 320° will make chewy/crisp bacon, 330° will make lightly crispy bacon and 340° will make crispy bacon.
  • Flip the bacon at 7 minutes and then finish cooking for the remaining 5 minutes.
  • Using tongs, place the bacon on two or three paper towels and place another two on top.
  • Press down on the paper towels to soak up as much of the bacon grease as possible.
  • You can put a dish towel over the top paper towels just in case there is a lot of grease so you do not burn your hands.

Air Fryers are all a little different and I recommend peaking at your bacon a couple minutes before they’re done just to make sure they are not burning.  I like to use a low temperature so the bacon is all cooked without burning.  The first time I tried cooking bacon in the air fryer I used 400° and the bacon came out with burned edges and large raw spots.  Through trial and error, I finally concluded that for our taste, bacon that is just ever so lightly crisp and a little chewy, 320° for 12 minutes was just right.
