Instant Pot Hamburger Steaks

Dave often cooks what I am craving. It something that I really appreciate since he does most of our cooking. Sometimes I jump in and help, but for the most part he loves to cook and create, so I sit back and let him.

This week he didn’t ask — it was time for him to make a recipe that has been on his list for a while. We tend to bulk up on meat once a month which keeps our costs low. The trick is when we start getting low on meat and we have to build meals around it. I think he was saving this hamburger just for this dinner!

2 lbs Ground Hamburger
2 Slices of Bread chopped
2 Tbsp Cream
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Salt, Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Paprika, Garlic Powder and Oregano
1 Egg
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Onion Chopped
2.5 Cups Beef Broth
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste (1/8 tsp)
3 Tbsp Flour

  1. Hit Saute, after it’s HOT, add Olive Oil, Brown Hamburger Steaks, 3 minutes on each side and then Plate, 2 Batches
  2. Saute Onions till caramelized, mix in flour, cook while mixing for 1-2 minutes
  3. Add Beef Broth, scrape the bottom clean, I use a wooden spatula
  4. Stir until thickened, about 5 minutes and turn off saute
  5. Add Hamburger Steaks back to the Instant Pot
  6. Lid, Seal, and Pressure Cook for 20 minutes and Natural Pressure Release after 20 minutes
  7. Open and Plate Burgers
  8. Eat with veggies, Carrot noodles, broccoli and rice

If Dave could eat this every day he would, I’m pretty sure the kids would too! It was amazing. 🙂
